About
Hi, I'm Constanza.
I'm a frontend developer with a background in Industrial Design. That mix is the whole point: I don't just build interfaces, I start from what the person is actually trying to do and whether the screen in front of them makes sense.
For four years I worked on Printful's Design Maker — the complex visual editor at the core of the product, used by hundreds of thousands of merchants. Taking something powerful but intimidating and making it manageable is exactly the kind of work I enjoy. Today I do that end-to-end: as a freelancer building websites and custom data tools for businesses, and on my own product, HandyFEM.
I work AI-native (Claude Code, Cursor), I obsess over accessibility and performance, and I'd rather ship something small and impeccable than big and rough.
Experience
- 2025 — Present
- Designing and building end-to-end a mobile-first PWA marketplace connecting women professionals in technical trades with clients — gender-perspective and security-by-design.
- Full-stack ownership: Next.js App Router (SSR/ISR for SEO), Supabase (auth, PostgreSQL, Realtime, Storage), shadcn/ui.
- Specs-driven development: product specs, design-system docs and security architecture (OWASP Top 10) written before the code.
- AI-integrated workflow: Claude as a technical thinking partner for architecture decisions — decision-making, not just code generation.
- Documenting the whole build process publicly on dev.to.
- 2024 — Present
- metalRef — a custom tool that makes London Metal Exchange data simple to read for a metals trader: owned UX research, design and build. Data-provenance labels, time-series charts (7d/30d/90d), dual-unit display and explicit empty states. i18n in 3 languages.
- Borrissol — end-to-end site for a textile-workshop studio: brand and token-based design system, 4 languages (hreflang + switcher), accessibility-first, GA4 with Consent Mode v2 and Playwright E2E tests.
- Result on Borrissol: Lighthouse Mobile 100 / 97 / 100 / 100 — Core Web Vitals FCP 1.5s · LCP 1.8s · CLS 0.
- 2021 — 2025
- Shipped full features from Figma to production: led the frontend of the knitting product type (canvas flows, product controls, previews and mockups), user onboardings and the redesign of the lateral tools menu.
- Accessibility, internationalisation and theming (dark mode) as part of the team quality baseline on a high-traffic, multi-locale codebase.
- Implemented user-behaviour tracking (Amplitude, Hotjar) at PM request, feeding product decision cycles.
- Stack: Vue.js · Vuex · JavaScript · TypeScript · Docker · CI/CD · Git flow.
- Multicultural distributed team (Barcelona–Latvia), full agile workflow: standups, retros, code reviews and continuous delivery.
- 2019 — 2021
- Contributed to the from-scratch rewrite of the core product, migrating a legacy PHP/jQuery stack to Vue.js + Vuetify — where I built solid foundations in component architecture and state management.
- Maintained the live version in parallel to keep the service running for existing clients during the migration.
- Stack: Vue.js · Vuex · Vuetify · PHP (CodeIgniter) · MySQL · MongoDB · REST APIs.
- The product powers digital signage for brands like Mango, Desigual, Decathlon, Cinesa and the FC Barcelona Foundation.
