★ about me ★

Hi! I'm Constanza 🖤 — Argentinian, based near Barcelona. I'm a designer and developer who builds web products that make complicated things feel simple, and a little bit beautiful.

My background is in Industrial Design, which taught me to design around people first — how they think, what they need, and where they get stuck — long before worrying about how to build it. Give me a messy, confusing interface, and turning it into something clear and intuitive is my favourite kind of problem to solve. And when I'm working in a team, I equally love the craft side: building pixel-perfect interfaces that stay faithful to a professional UI designer's vision, down to the last detail.

Off-screen, you'll usually find me hiking with my dog 🐶, listening to early-2000s pop-punk, or catching up on tech and comedy podcasts. ✨

★ how it all started ★

It actually started right here. I learned HTML and CSS as a teenager, customizing my own MySpace profile — tweaking colours, breaking the layout, and fixing it again at 2 a.m. That's where it all began: code, web design and the internet became my favourite playground. 🎵

I took the design path first. I wanted to make things that improved people's lives, so I studied Industrial Design in Argentina, where I learned what intelligible, human-centred design really means: user experience, process, and the difference between a universal solution and a tailored one.

After graduating, I was hungry for an adventure and a new challenge, so I moved across the world to spend a year in India designing high-end wooden furniture. It was an incredible chapter that taught me a huge amount, both as a designer and as a person.

I then moved to Spain, where I ended up managing around 20 short-term rental units almost single-handedly: sourcing, interior design, listings, check-ins and everything in between. I built a huge spreadsheet to run it all — one that turned out to be too complex for anyone else to follow. If I'd known then what I know now, I would have simply built them a small app. That frustration is a big part of why I became a developer: I had so many ideas and connections mapped out in my head, but I didn't yet know how to turn them into an interface people could actually use.

So I committed to it completely: three months of one-to-one classes, eight hours a day, which gave me solid full-stack foundations. My first developer role, at Admira, gave me my first real opportunity and taught me an enormous amount.

Then came Printful, working on the Design Maker — a tool for creating designs, which finally brought my two worlds, code and design, together. I loved my four years there, until the company merged with its largest competitor and a major restructuring meant saying goodbye. Bittersweet, but I see it as the beginning of the next chapter.

These days I'm focused on AI-assisted development while keeping my fundamentals strong, building my own product HandyFEM (selected for a UPC incubation programme), and taking on freelance work that lets me be both developer and designer. I also studied dog training during lockdown — naturally. 🐶
