metalRef
A custom interface that turns dense London Metal Exchange data into something a trader can read at a glance.
Client projectData UXAstroChartsi18n
A client project for a metals trader. Existing market portals drown the user in spreadsheets full of data they don’t need. metalRef strips that back to a tailored tool that surfaces only the metrics that matter for their decisions.
I own the full cycle: UX research, interface design and development.
- User-driven UX — distilled the client’s real decision-making needs into a focused dashboard, cutting the noise of generic market portals.
- Data clarity & trust — every figure carries provenance labels (source · delay · last updated) so the user always knows how fresh and reliable it is.
- Time-series charts with range selectors (7d / 30d / 90d) and dual-unit display (USD/t · €/kg).
- Designed for missing data — explicit empty states for metals with no active data provider, not just the happy path.
- i18n in 3 languages, intentional dark theme, clear market → detail navigation for inspecting each metal.
Currently in MVP phase while data-provider integrations are finalised.
